An Anansi story by Aditi, Rose and Marie:

Madagascar,Tulear

I chose Madagascar because it is very hot (I like hot places)
 and the second reason is because there are wild animals.
I have never been to Madagascar and it seems interesting.

I tried to find a place near the sea
I looked up on google maps and I found a place
near the sea called Tulear .

Queen carola's parotia

This bird is very good at dancing. But it’s not that coulorful either.

Destinctive


It contains a black body with yellow
Wings and white iridescent as a ornement.












Where dose it live?

Endangerd pandas

Pandas are one of the most endangered mammals, there are only 1,600 pandas left and they are still disappearing. Pandas used to live in bamboo forests until farmers cut down the bamboo for farmland.

Pandas will still disappear if we keep chopping bamboo down especially giant pandas because they only eat bamboo. Without bamboo they will die. That's why you should not chop bamboo down.

Poisonous frog

I have always loved this place.

I jump up and down all the time.

Christmas holiday

On Christmas morning I had a shock how many presents I got. Something to sew a bracelet.

Some coloring books to draw and a mp4 .I also went to my grandmothers house and I also went

to my friends house.  I also got lots of presents from my friend and aunty and uncle. They gave me their cat because their dog was going to eat him.we went back to my grandmothers house  

Dagobert

This holiday I got a really cute cat. He's called Dagobert. He's very fluffy and he loves cuddles.
Our friends gave him to us because they have a dog who wanted to eat him. He's really poor because he's only got three legs.
I love my cat.

Factors of sixty

After making a giant sixty-factor thing with Cuisenaire rods on Monday, Gabrielle, Marie and Rose were determined to make their own record of what they'd created. We had to stick some squared paper sheets together to make it big enough. They've added a few lines of rods of lengths we don't actually have, giving them new colours!

(Girls, I tidied it up a tiny bit, and turned it on its side so that it fits on the page!)

Can you see, there are still some factors of sixty missing? Do you know what they are?

How did there come to be sixty seconds in a minute, and sixty minutes in an hour? Apparently, it goes back a long way. Have a look at this video:

The old house

Once there was an old house. It looked very nice. It had an old pipe, a small bridge hanging on
a high cliff, lots of plants, and an old rooster on the top of the roof. The owner was proud, therefore he had invited some guests. There was a thin lady and a little girl.
Suddenly the lady saw someone climbing the house.
"There is a robber! Let´s go!"
The owner was just going to fix a tile.
 He was sad because the others went.
"They thought I was a robber!" said the owner.
"Well, I won't get fooled again."

Wallace and Gromit inventions

Today we had a look at some of the inventions in Wallace and Gromit:



and we tried to write the algorithm for the Bed Launcher and the Jam Ballista.

Bed Launcher

Here's Holly and Rose's algorithm:

1. Alarm clock rings.
2. Press second button on system control box.
3. Gromit pulls lever.
4. Counterweight lifts up bed mattress.
5. Person falls out of the bottom of the bed.
6. Doors in floor open.
7. Person falls into trousers and lands on the chair.

Jam Ballista

Here's Marie's algorithm for the Jam Balista:

1. Press activation button.
2. Spring pulls down.
3. Spoon goes in the jam.
4. Spoon catapults the jam.
5. Toaster ejects toast.
6. Jam goes on toast.
7. Time to eat!
