The first in the sequence?

We had some interesting discussions about what the first step in the sequence should be. This pattern seems like the H family, but does it actually begin with a single cube. Its creators think so. Here they are, explaining their reasoning.

In Maths we have been looking out for patterns and number sequences.  We built our own sequences using multi-link or counters.

Sequences and patterns

Just like 4B, 4G have been exploring the way patterns grow. We still need to pick apart the numbers involved, and the way these grow, but already we've got some great patterns. We had some good discussions about what the first step in these sequences should be. Are all of these right?
