Sugar glider

When I was little
I could not glide,
All I could do was jump.
But now I’m older
I can hunt and fly.
I go tree top to tree top.
I sleep in a bush for shelter.
I don’t like walking on the forest floor,
There are snakes and rotting leaves.

My enemies are tigers.
I am still learning to blend in
With the old tree trunks.
I lie on a branch trying to spot some fruit.
My favorite fruits are Brazil nuts.
